Well the end of uni­ver­sity life is get­ting near, and not hav­ing long until I grad­u­ate I decided I best start scour­ing out some more per­ma­nent job prospects. I’m a designer who is self moti­vated, inquis­i­tive, and ana­lyt­i­cal, with a love of all things design, and I’d love to work for a cre­ative com­pany who have almost an obses­sion for cre­at­ing top notch work.

Loca­tion

I’ll take any­where! I’ve been liv­ing in Man­ches­ter UK all my life and as green and as pleas­ant these lands are, I’d have no prob­lem trav­el­ling across the world for a career. Plus, travel has the added ben­e­fits of cul­ture and expe­ri­ence that I can really get stuck into.

Expe­ri­ence

Over the past 2 years, I’ve been pretty suc­cess­ful in bal­anc­ing a num­ber of free­lance projects of var­i­ous scales with other com­mit­ments. I’ve helped peo­ple set up their busi­nesses, con­sulted on SEO, usabil­ity, and web stan­dards, offered advice on brand­ing and logo design, and set-up and dis­man­tled back­end web tech­nolo­gies on a pretty much day to day basis.

I have lim­ited expe­ri­ence of work­ing in a stu­dio envi­ron­ment, but per­son­able, will­ing, and able to con­verse and com­mu­ni­cate eas­ily with others.

Main Skills

• Graph­ics: Advanced knowl­edge of Pho­to­shop and Illus­tra­tor, with inter­me­di­ate level expe­ri­ence using Quark and the use of InDesign.
• Web lan­guages: Advanced knowl­edge of seman­tic (X)HTML, CSS, usabil­ity, acces­si­bil­ity, inter­me­di­ate level SEO tech­niques, and a focus towards mak­ing projects web stan­dards com­piant. Expe­ri­ence using some of the JavaScript libraries such as Scrip­tac­u­lous, jQuery, and MooTools, with some knowl­edge of writ­ing PHP, Smarty, and JavaScript, and man­age­ment of mySQL databases.
• Web soft­ware: Advanced knowl­edge of Word­Press, of using Word­Press as a CMS, Light­weight CMS, Dru­pal, Joomla, Pligg, b2, Zen­Cart, and cus­tom built CMS’s, with expe­ri­ence of imple­ment­ing Micro­for­mats into exist­ing websites.
